Alexandra Stark was a beautiful and vivacious fifteen year old. She was enjoying life to the full when that very life was taken from her tragically whilst on a holiday of a lifetime with her dad and brothers, John and Liam. Ten days into a three-week holiday in Thailand visiting her uncle, a convicted drunk driver killed her almost instantly.

The days and weeks following her death were almost unbearable for her dad and brothers as well as the extended family. Coming from a very close and large family, Alexandra was always at the center of life within the family.

During her school years she developed very strong friendships particularly at St Maurice’s High School, Cumbernauld and Holy Trinity High in Cambuslang.
 
 
 
Her eldest uncle, Gerald, lives in Cape Town, South Africa with his family and has become involved in the Sunrise Crèche in a settlement called Vrygrond in Cape Town. The crèche is a sanctuary for children where they receive love and attention from all the staff.

Alexandra’s grandparents recently celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary and donated all monetary gifts to the crèche. This prompted the Stark family to establish the Alexandra Stark Memorial Foundation, as a charitable organisation and have pledged to raise approximately £15,000 to build two classrooms for the crèche in memory of Alexandra.

Our Progress

Since mid 2007, our goal is to raise £15,000.00 to fund plans to renovate and construct a new building for the Sunrise Creche in Cape Town, South Africa.
